2nd gen 12 valve cummins s400 and other upgrades

we had a chance to put together a pretty fun tow pig / daily for a friend and we love how it turned out. we started with a fairly stock 94 12 valve second gen with a nv4500 that had 90hp injectors and a few pump mods to open it up along with a 4 inch straight pipe.

first thing we did when we got the truck was pulled off all 6 valve covers strioped the old paint and polished them to a mirror finish.

we then moved on to pulling off the stock intake horn and throwing it in the trash. we welded up a new intake horn using some tig welded 304 stainless to match the valve covers and the turbo that we plan to polish. we did notice that the truck flowed way better and definitely responded better after we put on the new charger.

we then ripped the stock turbo off the truck and stuck on a BorgWarner s465 that we purchased from stainless diesel. we opted to use an adapter plate instead of buying a new manifold it is planned in the future to install a higher flowing manifold but decided to leave the stock one for now. we modified the existing down pipe to accept the new 4 inch outlet of the s400 to ensure there are no restrictions in the system. using the provided fitting's and lines from stainless diesel we dropped the new charger in.

we do have more stuff on the way to install like a dual disc clutch, 4k governor springs, studs and valve springs along with making an intake and mounting a air filter.

if you are interested in some of the items we made and installed on this project like the intake horn, the adapter for the down pipe or a set of polished valve covers you can find it on our website in the cummins collection.l
